It’s only one thing to prescribe an anti-hypertensive medication for high blood pressure;
it’s quite another to expand the patient’s context of life so that he stops being angry and repressive.
– David R. Hawkins, MD
Balance, Harmony & Passion start here:
Food: Eat sustainable food. Educate yourself about what is in food, where it comes from. Avoid processed food. Michael Pollen says it best “Eat Food, Not Too Much, Mostly Plants” Contact me for an amazing Green Smoothie recipe!
Rest: Get enough rest. Be asleep between the hours of 10 pm and 2 am…important things happen in your body during those hours.
Exercise: spend at least 30 minutes every day getting some form of exercise. Make it fun, make it happy, just make sure it gets done. Get moving!
Own Your Power: Use your voice. Speak your truth. Be in Present Time Consciousness.
Meditation: Spend some time every day, preferably at the same time every day, in meditation. Use a CD guided meditation, do a quiet meditation focusing on your breath, or a mantra, find one that sits well with you and make it a part of your daily routine, it is a very healing practice with tremendous benefits that exceed your physical body.
Journaling: The act of writing activates another part of the brain that puts things in another perspective. It is very helpful in lightening the load of thoughts we’re carrying around. This can be a very peaceful process and can be very helpful with the processing of emotions.
Affirmations: Spend some time everyday saying positive affirmations. Learn what thoughts are in your mind, and replace some of the negative thinking with a positive affirmation. “I love and accept myself” is a great place to start.
Read / Listen: Spend some of your time doing some reading / listening to something that is expanding your level of consciousness. Turn the TV off for a while and read something new that is uplifting and challenges you. Get an audio book and pop it in while you are driving in your car.
